Location:

• Wilmington, North Carolina

Duties:

• Analyze new case files and establish detailed action plans, budgets, and strategic recommendations

• Identify and fulfill pleading requirements; delegate appropriate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants

• Draft and respond to discovery, manage document production, and conduct case research

• Attend depositions, hearings, and discovery events; draft and submit detailed reports

• Negotiate settlements, obtain settlement authority, and prepare cases for trial as needed

• Maintain consistent communication with legal support staff to ensure case progress and compliance

• Support overall litigation team goals and contribute to a collaborative work environment

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience

• Experience in insurance defense litigation strongly preferred

• Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently

• Excellent client service, time management, and multitasking capabilities

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina (required)

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn legal case management systems

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for client, team, and court interactions

• Effective legal writing, negotiation, and strategic litigation planning skills

• Self-motivated with initiative and the ability to perform well under minimal supervision
