Associate General Counsel - Regulatory and Compliance
Duties: Provide legal advice to the consumer credit card business, including as relates to drafting and review of disclosures and terms for card products, interpreting federal and state legal requirements, supporting negotiations of third-party contracts with service providers and technology partners, reviewing legal issues with new and expanding business initiatives. Conduct extensive legal research and draft formal and informal correspondence and memoranda. Partner with the business to develop and implement new initiatives to enhance products, services and customer experiences. Proactively advise on potential risks, spot legal and regulatory issues, and advise on compliant strategies to manage and grow the business. Collaborate with business and risk/compliance partners to draft and update business policies and procedures. Provide practical and strategic legal advice and support on business matters in a fast-paced and regulated environment. Maintain a high level of professionalism, outstanding business judgment and strategic thought/growth-minded leadership and innovative approaches to legal issues that align with business initiatives and objectives. Provide counsel on state licensing requirements. Perform additional duties and assists with special projects as assigned. Supervise outside counsel as appropriate.
