Professional Responsibility Counsel

Duties: Advises firm attorneys and staff regarding professional responsibility and risk mitigation – including conflict of interest issues associated with new matters, review and draft waivers, review and negotiate client engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines, and RFPs, review and clear lateral attorney and staff candidates, analyze the efficacy and integrity of ethical walls, advise on attorney licensing and compliance issues, and advises on attorney advertising rules that differ by each state’s Rules of Professional Conduct; Advises staff members in the Conflicts Resolution Group and New Business Intake regarding conflicts of interest and other ethical issues related to new firm business across all practice groups; Conducts legal research related to conflicts of interest and other professional responsibility matters. Works directly with firm partners, attorneys and staff in the U.S. and in affiliated firms outside the U.S. to analyze and resolve complex conflicts of interest and sensitive risk issues; As requested, supports firm’s General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel on all aspects of law firm risk management; Participates in training firm attorneys and staff on professional responsibility ;obligations; and, other duties as assigned.
