Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Partner/Of Counsel specializing in General Liability, Trucking, and Transportation in Atlanta, GA. The role involves managing cases from inception to resolution, providing strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in various legal settings.

Duties

• Independently handle files from open to close, supervising associates and staff.
• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, and pleadings.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials; some travel may be required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of civil litigation experience, focusing on personal injury defense and/or transportation.
• Proficiency in handling civil cases from start to finish.
• Experience with depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert witnesses.
• Skilled in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials.
• Experience in negotiations and mediations.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of GA; additional states a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment.
• Prompt response to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.
• Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of GA; additional states a plus.
