Job Overview

A prominent bi-coastal law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with at least three years of experience to join its Tax and Benefits Group. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated national-level matters within a collegial environment while developing a book of business on a full-service platform.

Location

• Portland, OR

Duties

• Provide day-to-day counseling to clients on federal and state income tax matters

• Structure and advise on complex business transactions across multiple industry sectors

• Perform advanced legal research and tax analysis

• Collaborate with partners and team members on high-level client projects

• Assist with strategic planning and implementation of tax-efficient structures for clients

• Participate in client development initiatives and firm-sponsored events

• Maintain accurate and timely time records for billing

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of substantive experience in income tax law

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

• Proven ability to take initiative and handle client responsibilities independently

• Interest in management and leadership opportunities within the firm

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

• LL.M. in Taxation (preferred or currently enrolled)

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
