Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney with a background in construction or commercial litigation. This role involves handling complex, multi-party cases in both state and federal courts, with responsibilities spanning from case inception to trial. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of litigation experience and a strong understanding of construction law, lien claims, insurance coverage, and surety issues. This is a hybrid position following an initial training period and includes competitive compensation, bonus opportunities, and origination incentives.

Location

• Coral Gables, Florida

Duties

• Manage complex construction and commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution

• Draft, analyze, and revise construction contracts, insurance policies, and legal pleadings

• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials in state and federal court

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and briefs

• Communicate with and advise clients, maintaining strong professional relationships

• Work collaboratively with legal teams to ensure timely and effective case handling

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction litigation or commercial litigation

• Demonstrated trial experience is required

• Familiarity with litigation processes in both state and federal courts

• Strong understanding of case management and client service expectations

• Proven ability to handle multiple complex matters concurrently

• Willingness to travel for court-related proceedings as needed

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the Florida Bar (required)

Skills

• Expertise in construction law, lien law, insurance coverage, and surety law preferred

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other legal practice management tools
