A law firm seeks an associate-level Commercial Litigation Attorney with two years of hands-on experience in Omaha, NE. Duties

  • Conduct legal research on contract disputes, business torts, and related commercial matters
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
  • Assist with fact and expert depositions, including preparation of outlines and exhibits
  • Manage case calendars, track deadlines, and maintain electronic docketing systems
  • Prepare briefs and presentations for mediations, arbitrations, bench and jury trials
  • Review and analyze corporate records, transactional documents, and contract provisions
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and external experts
  • Develop trial exhibits and hearing materials
  • Mentor and oversee paralegals and junior support staff on document production and case management

Requirements

  • 2 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Active admission to the Nebraska Bar
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters under tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and independent case-management capabilities
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Political Science, or related discipline preferred

Certifications

  • Admission to the Nebraska Bar

  • Thorough knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and litigation strategy
