Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Counsel for its Los Angeles, CA office. The ideal candidate will possess nine to twelve years of relevant experience in labor and employment law, with a strong ability to manage cases independently from start to finish.

Duties

• Defend against single plaintiff litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
• Handle wage and hour disputes and reasonable accommodation cases.
• Manage PAGA matters and class actions.
• Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
• Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs and corporate witnesses.
• Provide employment counseling on federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.
• Strong research and writing skills with a solid academic record.
• Experience with employment counseling and litigation.
• Smaller portable book preferred but not required.
