Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a mid-level associate attorney to join its rapidly expanding Intellectual Property Litigation and Technology practice groups. This role offers the chance to work on intricate, high-profile disputes involving intellectual property rights across the United States and internationally. The ideal candidate will bring litigation experience across all phases of patent and IP-related litigation, as well as a keen interest in contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking legal team. Duties:

• Handle a range of responsibilities across the lifecycle of IP litigation matters

• Manage document discovery and oversee document production and review processes

• Conduct meet-and-confer sessions related to discovery

• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses

• Work closely with expert witnesses to develop and refine expert reports

• Draft persuasive motions, memoranda, and legal briefs

• Support proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), including inter partes reviews

• Collaborate with senior attorneys on strategic litigation planning and trial preparation

• Contribute to pre-litigation analysis and risk assessments for clients

Requirements:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in intellectual property litigation

• Demonstrated ability to manage key aspects of complex litigation

• Familiarity with PTAB trial procedures is considered advantageous

• Strong legal writing and analytical skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing

• Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a plus.
