Profile

A law firm seeks a seasoned Litigation Associate Attorney with a background in gaming regulation, particularly in representing the tribal gaming space. The ideal candidate will excel in drafting and arguing discovery motions, conducting and defending depositions, and possess exceptional oral and written advocacy skills. The role requires adeptness in case management and the ability to take the lead. Applicants must be admitted to practice in a state.

 

Job Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation matters related to the gaming industry, with a focus on regulatory compliance and disputes.
  • Draft and argue discovery motions, including but not limited to requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admission.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues pertaining to gaming regulation and litigation.
  • Prepare pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents for court filings.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client representation.
  • Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Attend hearings, trials, and other court proceedings as necessary.
  • Maintain clear and organized case files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience representing clients in the gaming industry, preferably in a mid-size to large law firm setting.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state.
  • Strong understanding of gaming regulations, preferably with experience in tribal gaming.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and arguing discovery motions and conducting depositions.
  • Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one state.
  • Any relevant certifications or continuing legal education related to gaming law or litigation.

 

Skills:

  • Litigation experience, particularly in the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Case management and organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, with a focus on gaming.
