Competitive Intelligence Coordinator
The candidate will support the Competitive Intelligence manager in all aspects of client development and marketing initiatives within a leading international law firm. Conduct basic research on companies, industries, markets, competitors and executives to support a range of end users, primarily attorneys. Conduct research intake interviews for reports requiring low-level analysis. Conduct research intake interviews for basic reports. Collect and synthesize internal data and secondary research to develop high-level briefing documents and target lists. Assist in auditing, building, and summarizing datasets from qualitative and quantitative sources. Help identify and monitor new legal markets, practice areas, industry segments and geographic regions with opportunities to secure new business; summarize and communicate key findings to CI Manager, and provide ad-hoc support to answer business questions as needed. Assist with basic tools troubleshooting and optimization; liaises with internal and external helpline as needed. Play supporting/coordinating role in the design, optimization, and production of CI deliverables templates; maintain CI guidebook, Standard Language Library, and task management workspaces. Handle internal and external inquiries effectively and/or directs inquiries to appropriate colleague or department. Understand and implements processes to resolve issues. Assist with other Firm initiatives as needed. Bachelor’s degree is required. Major in Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, Economics, History, or Journalism is preferred. Should have 0-1 year of experience in a role that emphasizes research and qualitative and quantitative analysis, law firm, executive search, investment banking, marketing, management consulting, or Top 4 accounting firm. Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required. Experience with SharePoint, pivot tables, and/or statistical analysis is a plus. Basic understanding of CI databases, technologies, and resources (including but not limited to Monitor Suite, CapIQ, Bloomberg Law, Lex Machina, and Newsdesk) a plus; or ability to learn the basics of these tools quickly is required.
