Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Litigation Division in Manhattan, NY. The candidate must be admitted to practice in New York and have 2 to 6 years of experience in defending general liability and property claims. Experience in Labor Law is advantageous but not mandatory.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery.
• Ensure meticulous compliance with billing and reporting guidelines.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery.
• Draft discovery demands, motions, case evaluations, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.

Requirements

• 2-6 years of experience as an Attorney in NY, preferably in a defense firm.
• Strong court knowledge and case management skills.
• Experience drafting briefs and pleadings, and taking and defending depositions.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to excellence.
• Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York.

Skills

• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
