Job Title: Environmental Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in Florham Park, NJ is seeking an experienced Environmental Associate Attorney. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in environmental law, including compliance, litigation, and transactional matters. The selected candidate will be responsible for advising clients on a variety of environmental issues and representing them in legal proceedings.

Duties:

• Counsel clients on federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies for remediation cost recovery in litigation.
• Conduct due diligence for environmental risk assessment during transactions.
• Draft and negotiate agreements with a focus on environmental provisions.
• Represent clients before regulatory agencies such as the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, EPA, NY Department of Environmental Conservation, and NY Department of Health.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in New Jersey, with additional preference for candidates also admitted in New York.
• A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar (required).
• Admission to the New York State Bar (preferred).

Skills:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and cases simultaneously.
• Expertise in environmental compliance, litigation, and regulatory representation.
• High ethical standards and professionalism in client representation.
