A law firm is seeking a patent agent for its Los Angeles, CA, location. The Patent Agent will primarily focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and staying abreast of AI technology and patent laws. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Collaborate with inventors to assess the patentability of new AI technologies.
• Conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Collaborate with inventors to understand new AI technologies.
• Conduct and analyze prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Stay updated on the latest AI technology and patent laws.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Familiarity with AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
• Experience liaising with clients to develop and manage portfolios.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active member and in good standing of CA Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
