Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled Complex Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of case development, including legal research, writing, witness preparation, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation.

Job Duties:

• Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents related to complex litigation cases.
• Preparing both fact and expert witnesses for testimony.
• Taking and defending depositions of witnesses.
• Appearing at court hearings on behalf of clients.
• Assisting with trial preparation, including drafting motions, pleadings, and trial briefs.
• Collaborating with other attorneys and staff members on case strategy and development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (JD) from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the Virginia State Bar.
• 2-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex litigation.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Exceptional writing abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research methods and resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice.
• Strong advocacy skills in court proceedings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
