Senior Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its growing San Diego, CA team. This position is ideal for an experienced attorney with a background in insurance defense, product liability, and complex multi-party litigation. Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other essential legal documents
• Engage in discovery, including depositions of witnesses and experts
• Analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic recommendations regarding legal strategy and coverage matters
• Collaborate with partners and clients to ensure timely, effective case management and resolution
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration proceedings as necessary
• Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of client service
• Maintain strict adherence to ethical and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and integrity

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the California State Bar
• 5-10 years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense or related fields
• Proven trial experience preferred
• Strong analytical and legal research skills, with sharp attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities, particularly in legal writing and advocacy
• Ability to independently manage a high caseload while effectively working in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines efficiently
• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and upholding ethical standards

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of insurance defense, product liability, and complex litigation matters
• Strong legal research skills, with proficiency in research platforms and legal databases
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Expertise in case management and trial preparation
