Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join their team in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. The successful candidate will have a strong background in litigation, with additional knowledge in tax, trusts & estates, business, and commercial law. This role involves working closely with senior attorneys to provide strategic legal solutions tailored to clients' needs.

Duties

• Manage and support all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Develop and execute case strategy and manage workflow with minimal supervision.
• Communicate and coordinate directly with opposing counsel, courts, experts, and third parties.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and advisory matters.
• Support tax, trust, estate planning, and estate administration matters as needed.
• Provide practical, business-minded advice aligned with client objectives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (active, in good standing); licensure in New York, or eligibility to waive in, is a plus.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy ability.
• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines independently.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

Skills

• Experience or exposure to tax, trusts & estates, business, and commercial law.
• Prior experience with complex litigation and multi-party disputes.
• Proven track record drafting substantive legal documents.
