Profile

A law firm seeks a seasoned litigation attorney to join its Michigan office and spearhead the defense of general liability and automobile negligence matters.

Duties

• Lead strategy development for complex liability and auto-related cases

• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of discovery, including document review and deposition preparation

• Draft and argue dispositive motions and pleadings

• Represent clients at court appearances, hearings, and trials

• Collaborate with senior counsel on case evaluations and settlement negotiations

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collegial, team-oriented practice environment

Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience defending general liability, negligence, or automobile claims

• Proven track record handling depositions, motions practice, and courtroom advocacy

• Ability to manage a substantial caseload with limited oversight

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on client needs

• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with clients, experts, and opposing counsel

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the Michigan State Bar in good standing
