Kokka & Backus, PC has open positions for patent agents seeking to work with a highly dedicated team of intellectual property practitioners, servicing clients ranging from venture-backed startups to Fortune 100 companies.

Responsibilities will include performing patent preparation and prosecution and working with intellectual property attorneys to service the Firm’s clients. The opportunity to participate in the intellectual property role within our clients is unique. We will provide in-depth training, generous compensation, and benefits.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm preparing and prosecuting patent applications

Must have at least 1 published patent writing sample (patent or application)

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Must be a registered patent agent with the US Patent and Trademark Office

At least 5 years of technical work experience, technical management experience as a software architect or product manager is preferred

Strong entrepreneurial zeal and desire to work with other entrepreneurs
