A nationally recognized defense litigation law firm is seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This position offers the opportunity to independently manage a litigation caseload, work collaboratively with a team of experienced litigators, and contribute to the firm’s success. Location:

• Chicago, Illinois

Duties:

• Independently manage a caseload of complex and high-exposure litigation matters from inception to resolution.

• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex legal matters.

• Handle court appearances, depositions, and motion practice regularly.

• Conduct paper discovery, take depositions, draft motions, and write reports.

• Communicate proactively and clearly with clients, providing regular case updates.

• Contribute to strategic planning and case development with a focus on achieving client goals.

• Perform electronic filings and utilize legal technologies effectively.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in defense litigation; professional liability or insurance coverage experience preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and efficiently.

• Strong advocacy skills with experience in deposition and trial preparation.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Experience with electronic filing processes preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois.

Skills:

• Proficient in litigation management and strategy development.

• Strong legal research, writing, and analysis capabilities.

• Ability to effectively engage with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing deadlines in a high-volume environment.
