Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview
A reputable Providence, RI-based law firm is seeking to hire two full-time Litigation Attorneys with expertise in civil litigation, specifically in the areas of insurance and medical malpractice defense. The successful candidates will manage their caseloads under the guidance of senior partners, engaging in a variety of legal tasks ranging from research to trial preparation and attendance.

Duties

• Manage cases independently from inception through resolution, with partner oversight.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial/arbitration documents.
• Attend and conduct hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Review and analyze legal documents with meticulous attention to detail.
• Provide regular case status updates and ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on complex procedural and substantive matters.
• Interface with clients, experts, and opposing counsel in a professional, timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, including associates, paralegals, and staff, in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of litigation experience within a private firm environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while maintaining teamwork dynamics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Experience with Amicus Attorney software is a plus.
• Must hold active RI and MA Bar memberships.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, balancing multiple priorities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Bar memberships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
