2021 Summer Law Clerk Program
The candidate will work for 10-week, full time internship from May 24, 2021 and July 30, 2021. Program begins with a multiday skills training exposing law clerks to the major legal problems facing low-income individuals, as well as the advocacy skills needed to assist in these cases. Following orientation, law clerks report to their assigned offices where they may receive additional training. May engage in client interviewing, drafting memos, working with community groups, and conducting legal research for cases and community issues. Work on projects including designing community education seminars, in-depth research on a substantive law topic, or creating written materials for client or staff use. Receive guidance from a mentor attorney in office. Lead the law clerk throughout the summer and supervise their legal work. Also have opportunities to work with other legal advocates and staff over the course of the program.
