General Liability Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload of complex litigation cases and provide legal representation to insurance carrier clients. The ideal candidate will work closely with an experienced Partner, discussing litigation strategy and delivering excellent client service. The candidate will have a strong foundation in defending clients in various litigation matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and insurance defense.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume caseload of complex litigation cases.
• Provide legal representation to insurance carrier clients.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with an experienced Partner.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various legal issues.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and arbitrations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to clients and insurance carriers.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Florida.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, or insurance defense litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience managing a high-volume caseload.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research software.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Florida.
