Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its litigation group in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, and will work in a professional yet relaxed environment. This full-time position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a highly experienced team of attorneys and staff.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in employment law.
• Familiarity with handling civil cases from beginning to end.
• Experience taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and experts.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings, and trials.
• Experience in negotiations and mediations.
• Admitted to practice in the state of GA; other states a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
• Must respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of GA.
