Job Overview:
A growing law firm based in Fayetteville, GA is seeking a skilled Family Law Associate Attorney to join their hybrid/remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with at least five years of experience in Georgia family law to work in a supportive, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel, conduct research, draft legal documents, represent clients in court, and supervise paralegals.

Location:

  • Fayetteville, GA

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings.
  • Draft and edit legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients and collaborate with other attorneys on case strategies.
  • Represent clients in court appearances and legal proceedings.
  • Supervise paralegal staff and ensure cases are moving forward efficiently.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure updates are accessible to all relevant staff.
  • Meet monthly billable hour requirements and contribute to the firm’s success.
  • Work in a diverse environment, engaging with clients and staff from various backgrounds.
  • Assist clients in determining the best course of action for their legal issues.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia and in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing family law in Georgia; probate experience is a plus.
  • Experience using MyCase, Clio Manage, Adobe, Peach Court, and MS Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to handle cases from start to finish.
  • Empathetic, compassionate, and tenacious approach to client representation.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and other attorneys.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the Georgia State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in family law and probate law, with the ability to manage complex cases.
