Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Litigation team in Garden City, NY. The position offers remote/hybrid options following initial training and integration. Ideal candidates will have 5-8 years of experience in insurance coverage and/or general litigation and must be licensed to practice in New York.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of practice experience in insurance coverage and/or general litigation.
• Licensed to practice in New York.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Education

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar license in New York.
