A national defense-focused law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 0–3 years of experience to join its team. This remote role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex matters—including mass torts, environmental claims, and commercial litigation—while supporting trial counsel for large corporate clients. Develop case defenses and trial strategies independently and in collaboration with senior counsel
Support national coordinating and trial counsel teams across multi-jurisdictional litigation
Draft pre-trial motions, pleadings, and other complex litigation documents
Conduct legal research and apply findings to state and federal regulatory frameworks
Prepare and respond to discovery requests
Interview, prepare, and examine witnesses (lay, expert, corporate)
Take and defend depositions
Argue motions and appear in court when required
Draft risk analysis reports and case evaluations for clients
Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings
Lead and manage paralegal and support staff assignments
Coordinate discovery strategies with co-defense counsel
Negotiate case resolutions and settlements
Cultivate and manage client relationships through timely communication
Engage in professional networking and community leadership opportunities
Meet annual billable hour requirements and maintain timekeeping in accordance with firm policy
0–3 years of litigation experience at a law firm
Experience in mass torts, class actions, commercial litigation, or related complex matters preferred
Familiarity with a billable work environment
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines in high-pressure settings
Prior exposure to complex legal issues including environmental law, harassment/discrimination claims, or product liability is a plus
Client service mindset with strong collaboration and communication skills
Comfortable working independently and remotely
Willingness to grow within a fast-paced, team-oriented legal practice
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active license in at least one U.S. state (California preferred)
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy
Strong interpersonal and professional communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
Experience with FileVine or similar document management systems (preferred)
Strong initiative and a desire for ongoing professional development
