Job Overview
A law firm seeks a skilled Employment Attorney to join its team, providing legal counsel and representation in employment-related matters. The role involves handling litigation, compliance, and advisory responsibilities related to employment law. This position is hybrid, with a mix of in-office and remote work, based in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX.
Duties
Manage employment litigation, including class actions and single-plaintiff cases.
Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenants.
Negotiate and draft employment agreements, severance packages, and other workplace contracts.
Provide counsel on employee policies, training, workplace investigations, and best practices.
Assist in employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence.
Represent clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies.
Stay current on labor and employment law developments and provide proactive guidance to clients.
Requirements
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, compliance, and transactional work.
Experience defending class and collective actions and advising on complex employment matters.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination laws, and compliance requirements.
Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
Licensed to practice law in Texas.
