Job Overview
A law firm seeks a skilled Employment Attorney to join its team, providing legal counsel and representation in employment-related matters. The role involves handling litigation, compliance, and advisory responsibilities related to employment law. This position is hybrid, with a mix of in-office and remote work, based in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX.

Duties

  • Manage employment litigation, including class actions and single-plaintiff cases.

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents.

  • Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and restrictive covenants.

  • Negotiate and draft employment agreements, severance packages, and other workplace contracts.

  • Provide counsel on employee policies, training, workplace investigations, and best practices.

  • Assist in employment-related aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence.

  • Represent clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies.

  • Stay current on labor and employment law developments and provide proactive guidance to clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, compliance, and transactional work.

  • Experience defending class and collective actions and advising on complex employment matters.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination laws, and compliance requirements.

  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 firm preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
