Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Riverside, CT, with experience in Trust & Estates law. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a 1st to 2nd-year attorney to grow professionally while providing a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an experienced attorney.

Duties

• Provide case management support for trust and estate, probate, special needs, and elder law matters.
• Handle communication with clients, families, court clerks, realtors, and other attorneys.
• Support and prepare for client meetings, signings, and probate court hearings.
• Draft and prepare estate administration documents for probate court filings.
• Conduct client intake meetings and gather necessary documents and information.
• Draft complex trust documents and financial reports for estates.
• Manage client phone calls, emails, and calendars.
• Organize financial and client data, maintaining contact lists and spreadsheets.
• Monitor deadlines and manage calendars effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the legal field or similar.
• Familiarity with legal procedures, protocols, and probate court systems.
• Licensed to practice law in CT and/or NY, or have sat for the Bar Exam.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in CT and/or NY.

• Critical thinking and comprehensive task execution.
• Excellent client intake and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English with strong writing, research, and editing skills.
• Computer literacy, including Office 365, Excel, and Word proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and work under pressure.
