Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in General Liability and Insurance Defense in Miami, FL. This role involves engaging in civil litigation with a focus on insurance defense, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Duties

• Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend trials.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis on insurance defense.
• Experience handling civil cases from inception to resolution.
• Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions.
• Skilled in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings, and trials.
• Experience in negotiations and mediations.
• Admitted to practice in the state of FL; additional state admissions are a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment.
• Responsive to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client interaction skills and telephone manner.

Education

• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Florida.
