Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A Murrieta-based law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of hands-on experience managing civil litigation matters. This firm handles a mix of complex defense work for national corporations and legal matters for regional businesses, with occasional representation of plaintiffs in select personal injury and medical malpractice cases. The position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and may allow for a hybrid work arrangement.

Duties:

• Manage assigned litigated matters independently from initial filing through resolution

• Conduct witness and expert depositions, both taking and defending

• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs

• Respond to and initiate written discovery

• Participate in court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences

• Communicate regularly with clients and insurance representatives regarding case status and strategy

• Collaborate effectively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other firm personnel

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience practicing civil litigation

• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload with minimal partner oversight

• Prior involvement in trial preparation and complex motion practice

• Familiarity with both defense and plaintiff litigation strategies is beneficial

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of California

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills

• Strong verbal communication abilities

• Competence in litigation software and case management tools

• Proficient at multitasking and meeting court deadlines
