Job Title: Attorney (Richmond, VA)

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm located in Richmond, VA, is seeking a lateral attorney with a portable client base to join their expanding team. The firm specializes in multiple key practice areas, including Government Representation, Business Representation, and Litigation Defense. Duties:

• Represent clients in complex legal matters, ensuring high-quality legal services in areas such as Local Government Law, Public Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Trusts & Estates, Corporate Law, and more.
• Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients while developing new business opportunities.
• Handle litigation and legal disputes, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Labor & Employment, Tax, Cybersecurity, White Collar Criminal Defense, and Construction Litigation.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals to strategize and provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert legal guidance across various practice areas.
• Maintain a portable book of business, contributing to the firm’s ongoing growth.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Virginia and/or North Carolina.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate and maintain a book of business.
• Proven experience in originating business of at least $200,000 annually.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Education:

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active State Bar membership (Virginia and/or North Carolina).

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Business development and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal cases and provide sound legal advice.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
