Duties:

  • Conduct thorough analysis and research related to medical devices and mechanical engineering patents.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal teams to gather necessary information for patent filings.
  • Provide legal counsel on patent strategies, portfolio development, and intellectual property matters.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments.
  • Assist in patent litigation and enforcement efforts, as needed.
  • Stay abreast of developments in patent law, particularly in the medical devices and mechanical engineering sectors.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Alternatively, degrees in other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience with medical devices and/or mechanical products.
  • Admission to the USPTO.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
