Location:

Duties:

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications with a focus on mechanical engineering technologies

• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses

• Advise clients on intellectual property strategies and portfolio management

• Respond to USPTO actions and maintain communication with patent examiners

• Work with inventors and technical teams to assess and protect innovations

• Support due diligence efforts and patent landscape reviews

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in patent prosecution

• Demonstrated experience working with mechanical engineering subject matter

• Strong academic performance and work ethic

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)

Certifications:

• Admission to at least one state bar (required)

• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (preferred)

Skills:

• Proficiency in patent drafting and prosecution procedures

• Strong analytical, research, and technical writing abilities

• Familiarity with USPTO processes and intellectual property law

• Effective collaboration and client interaction skills

• High attention to detail and time management
