A law firm seeks experienced Of Counsel Attorneys to join the Public Entity Labor & Employment Practice Group in Sausalito, CA. The role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in litigation, labor relations, or public-sector employment law, with a focus on providing strategic advice and handling complex legal matters for public entities.

Duties

• Lead complex litigation in trial and appellate courts for cities, counties, and special districts.
• Serve as chief labor negotiator, advising on collective bargaining and handling unfair practice charges.
• Conduct and manage high-profile employment investigations involving represented safety employees.
• Handle contested administrative hearings, including arbitrations and PERB trials.
• Provide strategic advice on public-sector labor and employment issues, including discipline and compliance.
• Act as Special Counsel in matters involving elected official misconduct and sensitive issues.
• Advise Fire Districts on general counsel services, including compliance with the Brown Act and Public Records Act.
• Draft complex legal opinions and advise on novel governance issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in litigation, labor relations, or public-sector employment law.
• Prior public agency or union-side experience strongly preferred.

Education

• Top 50% of law school class preferred; graduates from highly regarded law schools encouraged to apply.

Certifications

• Bar admission in California required.

Skills

• Proven ability to handle cases independently.
