Labor and Employment Associate Attorney - Midlevel to Senior

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a midlevel to senior associate attorney with four to seven years of employment law experience to join its Labor and Employment practice group in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for building a practice and a desire to work creatively with clients to find solutions.

Duties

• Manage internal and external client relationships effectively.
• Lead on matters and supervise junior associates.
• Draft summary judgment motions and other dispositive briefing.
• Prepare motions to compel arbitration and discovery requests.
• Oppose motions for class certification and gather declarations.
• Draft long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions.
• Prepare separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs.
• Advise clients on employment law compliance, including policies and handbooks.
• Conduct labor due diligence on M&A deals.

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills.
• Experience in employment litigation, including court appearances and depositions.
• Federal clerkship experience preferred.
• Experience in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits.
• Experience handling wage and hour matters and client counseling.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California.

Skills

• Ability to manage and lead legal matters independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
