Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is currently seeking an experienced and driven Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney for a full-time position based in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate should bring at least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage or related areas of insurance law. This role offers the opportunity to manage caseloads independently, collaborate within a team, and engage in a broad spectrum of complex legal matters. Strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently with both clients and colleagues are essential for success in this position.

Duties:

• Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies, providing thorough and clear coverage opinions.

• Review and assess complex insurance contracts and related legal matters.

• Communicate with clients to deliver effective and strategic coverage recommendations.

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.

• Manage litigation caseloads, including handling depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.

• Conduct extensive legal research and address regulatory inquiries.

• Foster and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and adherence to client guidelines.

• Accurately document billable hours and ensure timely submission of all required deadlines.

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and New York.

• Experience in federal court proceedings is highly advantageous.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage, reinsurance, or a related field.

• Proven expertise in legal writing, research, and analysis.

• Ability to handle written discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

• Prior insurance defense experience is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar admission in New Jersey and New York is required.
