Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Litigation Associate with 2-4 years of experience in complex general liability defense. The successful candidate will support a diverse caseload involving matters such as catastrophic injury, transportation incidents, premises liability, and negligent security. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with domestic and global insurance carriers, gain extensive courtroom experience, and handle matters from inception through resolution.

Duties:

• Manage an active docket of 25–30 general liability matters

• Take and defend depositions; participate in hearings and mediations

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal briefs

• Prepare client correspondence and internal communications

• Conduct legal research through databases such as Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw

• Draft and respond to discovery requests

• Review and organize materials for document production

• Investigate claims and formulate case strategies

• Maintain consistent and detailed communication with insurance carriers and insured clients

• Prepare cases for settlement discussions, mediation, or trial proceedings

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of relevant litigation experience

• Strong background handling general liability cases involving personal injury and property damage

• Experience with depositions, motion practice, and discovery

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with solid academic credentials

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Strong oral advocacy and interpersonal communication abilities

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities

• Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
