Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker IV for the Roads & Bridges Department. Job duties include but are not limited to:
Performing general road maintenance and repairs including laying blacktop, patching road, removing snow, clearing drains, creating berms, clearing construction site, etc.
Ability to safely operate and load a variety of road maintenance vehicles including dump truck, pickup truck, front end loader, grader, roller, backhoe, snowplow, commercial motor vehicles, flatbed trailers and other vehicles.
Ability to safely operate a variety of small air, gasoline, and electric powered tools and equipment, as well as safely operate cutting torches and welding equipment.
Must be able to read, write and follow instructions and learn work routine.
Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 100lbs. Able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions. Ability to work various shifts and be on call for snow removal maintenance and other emergency type work.
High school graduate with three to five years road construction experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
