Job Overview:
A respected law firm with a strong focus on public agency clients is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–4 years of experience to join its Seattle office. Duties:
Represent public agency clients in a range of litigation matters
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and provide case strategy recommendations
Manage multiple assignments and deadlines across active cases
Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex legal matters
Contribute to case preparation, including depositions, hearings, and trials
Take ownership of key aspects of cases, including client communication
Requirements:
2–4 years of litigation experience
Strong background in legal writing and research
Demonstrated experience with drafting litigation documents
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a team setting
Interest or experience in eminent domain matters (preferred)
Commitment to high-quality client service and professional growth
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Excellent academic credentials
Certifications:
Active and in good standing with the Washington State Bar (required)
Skills:
Outstanding legal writing and analytical skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication
Ability to work collaboratively while managing independent tasks
High attention to detail and responsiveness
Benefits:
Eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses, including a bonus equal to 15% of base compensation for meeting billable hour targets
Annual billable hours expectation: 1,850 hours (includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work)
