A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in New York, NY. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of foreclosure law and will represent clients in legal proceedings throughout New York, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Duties

• Handle a caseload of residential, consumer, and commercial foreclosure matters from referral through resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, attend court conferences, conduct legal research, and prepare pleadings.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and strategy.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state foreclosure requirements, including NY-specific procedural rules.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to move files efficiently.
• Maintain accurate, timely billing and documentation.
• Travel to and from various courts as needed.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in New York State courts.
• 2-5 years of experience handling foreclosure matters preferred.
• Courtroom experience preferred.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to handle a caseload with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of real property law, civil procedure, estate procedures, and title preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York State.
