Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a Litigation / Labor & Employment Attorney for its Newport Beach office. This role is designed for an attorney with at least three years of experience practicing civil litigation in California courts. The ideal candidate will bring additional experience in financial services litigation, creditors’ rights, or labor and employment law. This is a partnership-track opportunity with a highly competitive compensation and benefits package.

Duties

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters across California courts

  • Handle labor and employment litigation, including claims involving wage and hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment

  • Manage litigation cases from initial investigation through trial or settlement

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents

  • Provide legal counsel on employment law compliance and workplace disputes

  • Participate in client meetings, strategy development, and settlement negotiations

  • Collaborate with internal legal teams on multi-practice matters

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience in California

  • Familiarity with California state court procedures and employment litigation

  • Experience in financial services litigation or creditors’ rights is a plus

  • Proven ability to manage complex matters and meet deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California

Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities

  • Effective litigation strategy and case management capabilities

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • High attention to detail and commitment to client service
