Midlevel-Senior Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Midlevel-Senior Litigation Attorney with 4 to 6 years of litigation experience, preferably defending liability claims. The candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of general liability matters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including managing their own cases, drafting pleadings and legal documents, taking and defending depositions, providing strategic legal analysis, and appearing in court as needed. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, be admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and have experience in premises liability, general liability, automobile, and insurance defense. Excellent academic credentials, strong research, writing, organization, and analytical skills are essential.

Duties:

• Handle a wide range of general liability matters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
• Manage own cases from inception to resolution.
• Draft pleadings and legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Provide strategic legal analysis.
• Appear in court as needed.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions.
• Answer written discovery.
• Handle oral arguments.

Requirements:

• 4 to 6 years of litigation experience, preferably defending liability claims.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
• Experience in premises liability, general liability, automobile, and insurance defense.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong research, writing, organization, and analytical skills.
