Litigation Manager

The candidate plans, evaluates and manages resources to effectively achieve department productivity and quality goals. Measures department performance and coaches staff as needed. Communicates effectively with executive management and shareholders regarding the status of the department. Creates and maintains departmental policies and procedures. Works collaboratively with the managing and lead attorneys to ensure all deadlines are met and litigation work is completed efficiently and in compliance with court, county, and client requirements. Provides input and periodic reports to executive management (Directors) to track strategic goal accomplishments. Delivers disciplinary action when necessary. Writes and delivers performance reviews. Held responsible for department to meet expectations of executive management and shareholders. Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members, Supervisors and Team Leads and consciously creates a workplace culture consistent with that of the overall organization. Has authority to recommend a hire as well as decide on a termination and works with executive management and human resources to the extent necessary. Works with Human Resources when necessary to maintain compliance with a variety of employee-related matters, including FMLA, ADA or accusations of discrimination or harassment.
