Job Overview

A respected national law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–4 years of experience to join its Tax Practice Group, specifically the State and Local Tax (SALT) subgroup. Location

Duties

• Provide legal counsel on state and local tax matters

• Conduct research and analysis related to SALT issues

• Support the structuring of transactions from a tax perspective

• Assist clients with compliance and planning in multistate taxation

• Draft legal documents, memoranda, and client communications

• Collaborate with team members across practice areas

• Engage in firm-related initiatives, committees, and client development activities

• Contribute to pro bono work and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on state and local tax

• Strong understanding of multistate taxation concepts and compliance

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Experience at a reputable law firm or tax-focused legal practice preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Utah or ability to become admitted
