Assistant General Counsel - Marketing Legal

The candidate will be developing subject matter expertise in assigned areas and provide strategic and practical legal advice. Collaborating with other functional partners to ensure appropriate awareness of issues as they arise and assist in resolving matters and driving forward initiatives. Advising and collaborating with colleagues across the Legal and Compliance Departments. Handling escalated matters, projects and initiatives from various operational areas, including areas that have firm-wide and cross line of business coverage. Monitoring and advising business partners and legal colleagues on relevant legislative and regulatory changes. Assisting businesses (with an emphasis in the Home Lending lines of business) on the marketing of products, and advising on regulatory issues. Reviewing marketing claims and substantiation. Participating in various control, compliance, and risk initiatives from a legal marketing and communications standpoint. Working with the business to implement changes responsive to new federal and state legal and regulatory requirements as interpreted by staff attorneys.
