Job Overview
A law firm seeks an associate attorney for its Estate, Trust, and Probate Litigation practice group in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a niche practice in both litigation and transactional matters within the growing field of probate.

Duties

• Manage and assist with probate litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Collaborate with partners and other associates on case strategy.
• Handle estate administrations as the fiduciary or the attorney for fiduciary.
• Draft estate planning documents.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio.
• 0-4 years of experience as an attorney.
• Prior experience with probate, estate planning, estate administration, guardianships, or real estate law preferred but not required.
• Prior litigation experience preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.

Skills

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
