A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Securities Litigation Practice Group in New York City. This full-time role offers opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibilities within the practice group.

Duties

• Investigate, prepare, and file securities class action complaints.
• Generate and answer discovery, including records requests.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Draft legal briefs and other court submissions.
• Actively engage in case management.
• Regularly communicate and coordinate with co-counsel.
• Travel to depositions, mediations, meetings, and hearings as necessary.

Requirements

• Speaks clearly and persuasively; listens and asks for clarification.
• Conducts thorough legal and factual research; familiar with WestLaw and Lexis.
• Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for content, grammar, and spelling.
• Works independently; prioritizes and anticipates work needs.
• Keeps client and firm information strictly confidential.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite and experience with timekeeping software.

Education

• Legal degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Current admission in good standing to any Bar in the United States.

Skills

• Effective oral communication and argumentation.
• Strong research and legal writing abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
