Job Title: Creditor’s Rights Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A reputable law firm located in Louisville, KY is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to support its expanding civil litigation practice focused on creditor’s rights. This role is ideal for early-career attorneys who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and have an interest in legal collections, regulatory compliance, and courtroom advocacy. The position involves regular court appearances, strategic litigation planning, and collaboration with a highly skilled legal team dedicated to ethical and effective resolution of financial matters.
Duties:
Represent clients in legal proceedings related to consumer collections and creditor disputes
Develop litigation strategy tailored to individual case needs and client objectives
Prepare and review pleadings, motions, and other court documents
Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and counsel when appropriate
Defend claims and manage escalated litigation, including counterclaims and contested matters
Partner closely with legal support teams for efficient case management and document handling
Keep informed of changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements
Utilize litigation software and legal tech tools to streamline case handling
Travel regionally for court appearances throughout the state as needed
Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in creditor’s rights, collections, or general civil litigation
Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Kentucky Bar
Ability to independently manage caseload and court calendars
Strong analytical skills and sound judgment in legal decision-making
Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
Familiarity with legal collections processes and applicable consumer protection laws
Comfortable with the use of legal technology and case management platforms
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active and unrestricted license to practice law in Kentucky
Skills:
