Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its Labor & Employment team in the Richmond, VA office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience providing labor and employment law advice and representation from the employer/management perspective to both public and private entities.

Location:

• Richmond, VA

Duties:

• Provide comprehensive labor and employment advice and representation to public and private entities.
• Engage in counseling, training, policy development, contract review, and development.
• Handle litigation and represent clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies.
• Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients to address legal matters efficiently.
• Assist in business development efforts and manage client relationships.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Active Virginia state bar license (additional state bar licenses are a plus).
• Proven counseling and litigation experience in state and federal courtrooms.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent research and writing skills.
• Exceptional client service orientation and strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with initiative, responsiveness, and good judgment.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across different office locations.
• Ability to develop and implement strategies to acquire new business.
• Entrepreneurial drive and desire to build and maintain a client base.
• Portable book of business or proof of originating business at $200,000 annually or more.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Virginia (and/or North Carolina).

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and maintain composure.
• Ability to develop and implement client acquisition and retention strategies.
